O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth. Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof. Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth. ~Psalm 96:9-13

Yes, I love flowers!! They are wonderous works of God. And I love pictures of flowers!! Someone once told me, as I was admiring a consigned picture of a flower that was for sale in his store, "Why would anyone take a picture of a flower? It's not doing anything." It's not doing anything?? It's just being spectacular is all!!! What a ditz he was, & he didn't know who he was talking to either. Geez!
Bloom on!!!
P.S. I have a peony exactly like the one you have, CarolineNot, that is hot pink with the yellow center. They're striking, but not as pretty as that huge, multi-petaled, pink one you have. WOW!! What a work of art!!!
Mmm, interesting tale about the flower photo you admired in the shop or gallery.
No kidding, you have that hot pink thing? ºÜº Is it blooming up there yet? Got photos -- do send. Gotta tell on myself and admit I wasn't positive it was a peony, because I've never before met one such as that. Thanks for the confirmation. In fact, I was glad I'd decided to allow the flowers to tell their own stories, since I didn't feel confident I knew who that hot pink thing was; I thought peonies were always puff balls.
Since we bought our home in August, '06, and last year global warmingNOT froze the life out of EVERYTHING, we didn't know until this spring what blossoms would present. Lots of pleasing surprises. \o/
