The Donald

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  ~Philippians 3:13, 14

Kids' Headgear

Recycling?

I cannot tell you why this child saw a helmet in a TV dinner box, but he did, and he extricated it.

Neither can I splain this:

Killjoy.

And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.  ~I Peter 5:4

Triplets

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.  ~Psalm 143:8

Day-Old Babies

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.  ~Philippians 2:3, 4

Photography GeniusNot

[Charles approaches and looks at monitor.  "What's that?"  "It's SugarPlum.  I'm doing a post of stupid photos."  "Oh.  Well that should be easy: probably got a ton of 'em."  *waaa*]

Now some of my photographic treasuresNot you just don't need to see.  I didn't need to see them.  When I'm in the pasture, heart swelling with CowNot love, thinking every little thing the CowNots do is cute ... I should bear in mind that eating chow isn't so cute, captured in a camera lens.  This activity provides a frame full of CowNot be-hinds.  Not cute.  So we won't be looking at any of those today.  I have a lot of 'em.  We won't look at 'em, though.

Would you believe me, if I told you I wanted a photo of Florence's collar?

I didn't think you would.

It's kinda nice, having a photo of my foot.  I do have another one — foot, that is.  I can't tell you where it was or why it was there.

Might have been a right-nice foot-foto, without that shadow.

Here's a lovely photo of Alice:

I don't know, so don't bother asking.

Got me a great shot of the iced pond:

Be quiet.  Look again.  It's at the top, beyond all that dead grass.

Here's Murdock, in the CowNot pasture, where he lives with his two hen-wives:

That is too Murdock.  Okay, his wives are outside the frame.  But Murdock's there.  Well, part of his head.  Near the lower, left corner.

This is a cute little image of our cute little SugarPlum:

This one ... this next one ... no blame lies at the photographer's door:

Don't you dare say a word about DNA.  Not one word.

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.  ~Mark 11:25

CowNot Faces

ELEMENO

HARRIETT

FLORENCE
That look is just so Florence.

ELEMENO & FLORENCE
Daughter & Mother

Oops, wrong end.

No, that was not an intentional shot but representative of my photography skillsNot.  I may soon do a post further exposing my foto faux pas.

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.  But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.  ~I Corinthians 11:31-32

CowNot Love

Anabelle has always been the friendliest CowNot.
Alice is now vying for attention.

There's shuffling of sheet music in the orchestra pit.

A harp is gently strummed.

Violins swell the angelic instrumentation.

Alice, that's a real mood-killer.

For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.  ~Amos 4:13

Baaad

setting the scene

This is where the CowNots belong:

Lest there be any photographic perspective confusion, allow me to explain that I'm standing near the back of the house, and between me and the CowNot fence lie -- in order -- the driveway, driveway island, 'nother driveway, barn, garden, and pond. The CowNots belong waaay over there, beneath the arrow and beyond the silo.

When I'm in the house, I should not be able to hear, "Baaaaaa."

The CowNots do not belong here:

Why are there only three, though?
When they escape, they usually do it en masse.
Oh:

Uh-Oh:

CowNots do not belong here.
For you city dwellers, there is no such thing as a CowNot coop:

Move'em out.

Well, push harder.

Paparazzo (aka HelpfulNot Hannah) finally went for cookies.

Goatherder doesn't realize they lost the cookie trail:

So I'm stuck with this:

My mood wasn't enhanced by Willie's persistent snotting on me: *phfooomph* That's a rather indelicate thing to be saying, but the fact is that he was following me around and repeatedly snotting on my bare legs and toes (*phfooomph*), and it just wasn't a delicate experience. It was nasty, and you might as well know it. *phfooomph* So I was actually thankful when they started thinkin' about chicken feed again:

"Come help me open this door!"

CowNots do not belong here:

I finally chased them with the lawn tractor.
Three times that day.
[And a big, ol' *phfooomph* to you, Willie.]

Baaad CowNots.

Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord; thou art great, and thy name is great in might. Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee. But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities. ~Jeremiah 10:6-8
