Pulling again from the comments box, where Zoomer and Cousin Annie are talking whites...
Truth be known, even I'd thought this background was some shade of off-white or even white. It was many moons ago, that I popped a graphic into the text space and discovered the white graphic background didn't match the color of the text area. I poked around and found the html code for the background.
Loo and I have fussed about the colors of things on my blog, so that one day I brought a particular item to the computer and compared it with a posted photo. Winning is SO important, don'tcha know. Since I was looking at the real deal, with the photo also in my face, I could confirm that I was seeing true color on my monitor...even if it is a cheap little thing, not nearly as nice as Cousin Annie's planned purchase. *major snorting*
You are about to see -- or not see -- two color blocks in the center of this text box. Ya got white on the left and off-white on the right. They're sitting on this green background, and I deliberately didn't put borders around them, so you may have to hunt -- especially you, Cousin Annie, since you've been looking at chicken tails and bits of straw. There's no tellin' what you're going to see!
For cryin' in a bucket, is this a slow day, or what?
I'm all done with my color tutorial now.
Something tells me y'all won't be done with me.
Oh worra, worra, worra.
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ~Isaiah 1:18

OK, I concede...partially. By posting those two color blocks on your so-called GREEN background, it does make it appear a teensy...& I mean teensy weensy...bit green rather than beige. The white block is just that: white. But, the second block that you call off-white looks very creamy yellow to me. Not nearly as yellow as the bits of straw...the little, bitty bits of straw...that I see, but creamy yellow like margarine; or the vinyl siding on our house; or......OK, I give up!
Yes, it's been a slow day...an entire slow week actually. Not that it hasn't been busy, but it seems like it's taken forever to get to the end of the week.
Have a colorful weekend, CarolineNot!! ºÜº
P.S. I ordered my new computer today...guaranteed to be color-perfect! ;)
I'm less cuckoo when I have my camera, aren't I? Certainly less cheeky. Color swatches: a big ol' snort to that. I was awfully interested, though, to see how great or small the contrast would be. All the labor the background color has caused me while working with graphics has made me much more aware of the color than I'd have ever wanted to be. Ü
I stayed a day behind all week, so we might say it rushed by for me. I'm slow. Week was fast.
CarolineNot: "Oh, this is Thursday? I've been discombobulated all week."
Charles: "Well, you better get yourself bobulated."
I'm very excited about your new computer...and my new camera batteries. \o/
Ah, I see it now. Your green background, I mean. In fact, it's nearly the shade of my bathroom walls, which I love, but which I now know would look beige if bordered in rose pink. (The plaid border is rose pink, isn't it?) And your beige swatch is the same color as my kitchen cabinetry, which looks butter yellow to me any day, but which the paint store calls Bay Tan. *shrug*
I'm at work...where your blog looks just like C.A.'s description with the tails and bits of straw. Also, I thought your background was beige until you called it green, but I can see that it is a green-ish beige. hehehe
What if I said I haven't had enough coffee and can't see anything???? Hee hee!
Poor (((Janie))). Make a pot of coffee, Janie. Ü
Loo, you confirmed one of my theories. Must be about monitors' display settings. Don't quote me on this, but I think mine is 1024 x 768; numbers in that vicinity. I have to look them up again, each time there's a need to know.
So, (((Cousin Annie))), some things in your world are just larger than life, and that can be a good thing. You're 10,000 x 10,000 in mine. Ü
Glad to have the mystery solved. We may have another, though, when I decorate for winter. Perish the thought! ºÜº
Not to beat a dead horse, but just wanted you to know that when I changed my pixels to the smaller size you mention, viola......!!!......I can see the entire page...chickens, straw, border...everything!!! It creates another problem for me tho'...the print is so small I would definitely need to borrow a pair of your Target junk reading glasses!! %)
That cracked me up!
Well, we'll see how things are with your new 17-incher, when it's employed.
"junk reading glasses": I'll be laughing 'til lunchtime, at which time my mouth will be too busy, but my heart will still be smiling.
