Gingerbread Cookie Gnoshing

"I've decided gingerbread cookies are an acquired taste," I said to Charles one recent evening, "...and I've acquired it."

It's true. While entertaining myself with a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle, I'd methodically gnoshed my way through the bag of placecard spares I'd made and hadn't needed.

I have my eye, now, on the bagged placecards from our Thanksgiving feast. I don't know why I keep those things, but I do. Maybe it just seems wrong to invest all that time and effort, then toss them into the waste basket before an appreciable measure of time has distanced my thoughts from the labors.

This year, Carmen and I both decided to chomp the corners of our placecards as we lolled bubblingly at the table after our meal. Hmm, I'd thought. Maybe this is why we don't eat them. I'm not a spicy sort of girl in the first place, and I just wasn't very taken with those chewed corners.

Things change.

I'm not going to eat Carmen's, because I witnessed her nibbling. If anyone licked your placecard, tell me now -- before it's too late.

I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly. ~Psalm 119:7, 8

What a cute placecard idea! :D Well now, one couldn't just save the placecards for next year, could one? So, the cookies would be very useful to munch on when engaged in a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle. I hope you had fun! I've never tried a thousand piece puzzle; puzzles are nice way to pass an evening, but sometimes I feel like I'm going to fall to pieces and I can't quit till it's finished.
Hope you're having a good week!

Morgan, me too, me too! I usually try to limit the selection to 500 pieces and don't work even that size very often, because once I begin, I cannot quit until it's finished. Time and life pass by, as I mutter fixedly, "Two knobs, two holes; one knob, three holes; disk; three knobs, one hole...." *flipping lips with finger*
