Much Ado about Nothing or HELP ME!

Here's the deal...

New computer, and I feel like I'm staying in a nice hotel but would just like to go home.  Don't have all my stuff with me.  Don't know my way around in the dark.  Where did Vista hide everything?  Great trick — NOT!  XP worked swell.  Vista notsomuch.  And I get old dawgier by the day, which I understand is probably the biggest problem, but let's not discuss that.

So I load my blog at Ghz speed (woo-hoo!) ... and am aghast at the colors before my eyes.  That little discussion (read: full-blown fight) we had a few months back over whether the background here was white or very pale green became a quick non-issue.  So did the set-to over whether that egg was gray or bluegreen.  When I loaded my blog on the new monitor, the text background color was medium tan!  Lots of tweaking to the monitor's default settings expunged that mud, but the pale green still eludes me.  This means, of course, nothing looks the same to me any more.

In an effort to pretend assure all that everything isn't about me, I'm asking you to let me know what your monitors like best as the Scripture background color.  I could have done a poll, but Impatience is my middle name (kinda pretty, isn't it), and comments will be much quicker:

Green:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  ~Psalm 1:1, 2

White:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  ~Psalm 1:1, 2

Pink:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  ~Psalm 1:1, 2

Of course, there's the option of suggesting yet another color, if you think my peabrain could handle it.  Are you feeling a blue?

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  ~Psalm 1:1, 2

Now don't just go saying blue, because you like blue.  Look around.  We're hanging curtains here, and they need to look nice.  I had to make the curtains (12 total) for my living room three times (yes, that's 36) before I got 'em right in color and style.  Do me better than that, even though we're just working with a few keystrokes (6 to be exact).

Could it get any fluffier than this?  Well, I could be talking politics, perish the thought.  Weigh-in, and I'll go with the most desired.

Postscript:  Should blue prevail, I'd work some into the header or sidebar.  Once this was posted, I rather liked the shade of blue (on my monitor anyway), so we could toss an accent elsewhere, if it comes out on top.  Just so ya know.  ºÜº

P.P.S.
That pink really ain't workin' for me. While I pulled it from the pink on the background (and lightened it), it looks to me like the value isn't right.

If you vote for the pink, I'll know you have lousy taste. Oops, 'xcuse me.

OK, I have to go with the green. I agree the pink is pretty awful, and while the blue is a pretty color, you would have to change your whole blog, and I really like your background as it is. Just my 2 cents worth.

I'll agree with Laurel, of course, and go with the sage green. It complements the darker green of your background. I also agree with you about XP vs. Vista. I so like my XP but discovered that you can't buy it in the stores anymore or even from Microsoft. I hope I can fix my crashed computer soon, I'm getting fed up of the Vista on my kids laptops.
BTW, if you haven't seen it already, you need to take a look at my May Chicken of the Month. Laurel and I both agree he's not very pretty to look at!

I'm glad you said what you did about the pink 'cause I kept looking at that & comparing it to the pink in the heading, but it just didn't blend...or something. I also really like the blue, but don't think it looks very good with everything else. The white is too bright & your so-called "green"....looks more tannish to me, but it does seem to match parts of the background. Personally, I like your text background as it is...or as I see it...a lighter shade of the "green" or tan...kinda beige. How's that for throwing a wrench in it?! :P

Cousin Annie, I've been knocked off my color high-horse with this monitor thing, and I'm guessing your own new monitor is showing you what I saw before I started ramming color adjustment buttons. I'm still getting some muddy colors by comparison with the old monitor's settings. :(

Too much blue in that pink, and I could have shoved it yellow, but what you see truly is a lightening of the pink in the other graphics. I can't say I understand that, unless I accidentally hit a random blue-leaning pixel (several times) in the composition of the overall pink tone. Looks like we're going green (*gasp*) anyway, so clashing pink is a problem for another day.

Janet, great to see you, and I can now re-grab my link to your blog through your ID. Whew! I'll go look at the May chicken. Ü

I'm told there will soon be no more support for XP, which I assume means no security patches, so I deliberately opted for a bundle with Vista. I did see, however, one computer bundled with XP, so there must still be a few on the market. I assume they're "old" enough now, though, to not possess some other desired features. Personally, we needed speed, so processor and RAM were our focus. New tricks though: I stink at them.
