2009 - The End

Our Son1 came home.  Our Little Loo celebrated her third year as a Rocky Mountain Bride.  Our Son2 was a hero to his little girl and us all, slaying more dragons than anyone would want to meet in a lifetime.  Our Son3 joined the workforce, leaving a hole in the home.  Our Son4 stepped into his man-shoes, tightening the slack in the rope around the farm.  Our bammy passed away.  New chicks lived in the living room for 3 weeks, which was 2 weeks longer than they were cute.  I repeatedly prayed my way out of (vociferously) demanding an apology from everyone who voted for Obi.  I developed a compulsive interest in weaving ... which will follow me on January 1^st to my new blog, NottaLotta Acres 2010, as this one ('07-'09) is officially retired.

I ran into this over at Paid in Full and fully surprised myself, when I poked the button to view, especially since I thought I was going to watch a 7-minute film on hunting.  I can't think of a reason to watch even a 1-minute film on hunting, so I must have been having a fullblowncuckoo moment when I poked that button.  Sorry.

Roll film, and it was a you-had-me-at-hello moment.  It didn't begin with hunting, rather fishing, which was entertaining enough to find me still viewing when the hunting segment came on the screen.  I laughed aloud at the hunting garments.  Sorry again.

Cowple - Moooo(not)

While I've thought the colloquialism sheeple was a clever one, I learned this morning it's not a right fit, because sheep gather in flocks.  They have a different — and apparently widely accepted and used among Themselves — term for referencing the ignorant masses: HERD.  [evidenced in Part 2]

Actually, I'm relieved, because The Good Shepherd calls His people the sheep of His pasture, and to employ that metaphor in describing people who mosey along the path lain by evil men is perhaps a tarnishing of original intent.

The willfully ignorant masses are cowple.  Hopefully, not goats, which also herd.

A Woman Rides the Beast

It's been discouraging to me for many years to hear Christians being accused in the media and elsewhere of torturing and murdering people in the name of religion, when Bible-believing people (Christians) were actually the victims of the heinous crimes committed.  I don't know how the historical truth has been draped with a web of deceit, but that has happened.  Maybe all which has been required is enough people, with loud enough voices, saying repeatedly, "Well Christians...."  No, Christians did not do those things.

I like to keep things simple:  Telling people I'm a monkey 47,834,656 times will not make me a monkey.  I may physically resemble a monkey.  I may act like a monkey sometimes.  I eat some of the foods monkeys eat.  I can make monkey noises.  The informed, though, will know and note the differences between me and a monkey.  I'm not a monkey.

Conversely, a female monkey with brown hair, wearing a skirt, sitting in a chair, eating grapes or a banana, and pecking on a computer keyboard is not a woman.  No matter how many times someone tells you she's a woman, don't you believe it.  She's not a woman.  She's a monkey.

A Christian is someone who is saved by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ — the Jesus of the Bible — who paid the penalty for sin on the cross of Calvary (once, for all) and three days later, rose from the grave and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father — the God of the Bible, whose name is Yahweh.  "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."  (Ephesians 2:8, 9)

Best Dorky Pizza Film

Our (headless) son-in-law and his wife developed and perfected a pizza and were asked by a few people to share their recipe.  The wife, Little Loo, thought since there were so many little bits and tidbits to explain via text, it might be easier — even fun — to film the process and load it to YouTube...which they did.

Last evening she was putting up quite the whine over the two of them having embarrassed themselves, for what they expected was a lot of hoots and hollers over how dorky, ridiculous, cheesy, and (choose any dumb word and insert here) their little pizza-making film was.  Instead, everyone was nice to them about it, offering flowery raves.

So help me out here.  Help my headless son-in-law and his wife regain their dignity by fully expressing how dorky their little pizza-tutorial is.  You'll make them feel a whole lot better.  It's your assignment.  It's your duty.

Global Warming in an Honest Light

We'll shine that incandescent light on the facts vs. the hype or propaganda which brought the old fluorescent bulb to recent favor.  Here's a segmented film, Global Warming or Global Governance, worth every viewing minute.  Pop some corn and even turn off the lights, if you take a shine to theater ambiance.  Enjoy some sciencelight, which even I can understand and appreciate, and we know I'm not all about science.

[Notes:  1. One man in the film says, "...since the first day the earth evolved," which made my eyes roll and prompted me to warn of this and a perhaps mention of more thousands of years history than exist.  I'm so accustomed to ear-filtering that sort of nonsense, I could have missed some bits of it.  2. Zoomer, you keep talking to those seedlings, all up close and personal, because they need that CO₂; they love it.  In fact, I'm thinking of assigning a chore chart in the summer, so we can take turns crawling through the garden, blowing on the vegetables.  Would that be a carbon kneeprint?]

It's not patriotic to remain willfully ignorant of what is happening in one's nation or to determine one will blindly follow a particular political party's platform and guidance.  I've seen courageous, patriotic attempts to inform, to make the truth available — in spite of the arrogant mocking, name-calling, derision, and villifying of the messengers.

Personally, I'm not overly concerned about patriotism, except for being heavily vexed by people who hurl accusations of being unpatriotic at those who care enough about this country to research and learn the facts, which are readily available.  I cannot, and do not desire to, separate a Biblical worldview from any facet of my life, including politics.  It would be disingenuous of me to attempt to convince myself or anyone else that I am so far removed from happenings in the world that I care not what is the destiny of the USA, the country in which I was blessed to be born and to live.

Christians understand we are witnessing what appears to be a fast track to one world government to be ruled by one man.  That is worthy of attention: when the USA becomes unrecognizable, so, also, will be greatly diminished the ability to fulfill the commission given us in the kingdom of our eternal citizenship.

Five times Jesus told us, referring to end times events, to watch.  He told us what would be occurring on the earth, and He told us to watch, "...and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." [Luke 21:36]

You needn't necessarily care about what's happening in the USA.
